You know that kind of love. The kind that makes your heart stop and you feel butterflies in your stomach every time you see them? That's the kind of love I'm alllll about. Kristen and Jack are the epitomai of that love. Together their bond is unbreakable and it was such an honor to be the one to capture their engagement photos. Throughout our entire time together, it was evident that these two were head over heels in love with each other. Like Nicholas Sparks type love, ya know? And although we did catch a bit of rain on this day, nothing was stopping us and making pure and utter magic.

Steppingstone Park - Long Island, New York

When it came time to choose a location for their engagement session, it was important to Kristen and Jack that they choose a location meaningful to them. In comes Steppingstone Park. This gorgeous park is 12.8 acres of land and overlooks the stunning Long Island Sound. It holds much significance to Kristen and Jack's relationship and is somewhere they frequent often, so naturally getting their engagement photos there was a no-brainer. I always suggest my couples choose locations with significance to their relationship, that way looking back has that much more power.

Rainy Long Island Engagement at Steppingstone Park

Now let's just say Mother Nature was all over the place this day. The very first 20 minutes of their shoot we had a bit of rain, which to most people would be a major buzz kill. However, Kristen and Jack were such troopers and really went with the flow for the entire day. Plot twist... it did clear up a bit. When it comes to moments like these, I always suggest my couples keep an open mind. While a change in weather can certainly cause a damper on your expectations, don't let that shy you away. You'd be surprised what kind of amazing things you can create when you put your mind to it! Luckily we had some clear umbrella's to hold us over and we got some really cute shots o the two lovers "dancing in the rain".

Shortly after, Mother Nature finally let up a bit and we were able to ditch the umbrellas and head to the beach located inside the park. The cool breeze of the Long Island sound consumed us but was oh-so refreshing at the same time. It truly was an amazing moment that I will cherish with them forever. Kristen and Jack, being absolute naturals in front of the camera, made instructing them on prompts an absolute breeze. Honestly, I felt like their connection alone was enough to get by in these photos, don't you think? However, if you are reading this and your engagement session is coming up and you're a bit nervous, take this one piece of advice. Trust your photographer. Your photographer is there to help guide you, prompt you and make you look and feel your best. So make sure you hire someone you absolutely love and the end results will be so worth it.
