Do you really need to splurge on a larger-than-life wedding venue for your big day? Some of you may argue yes, and some of you may argue no. In my opinion, I have seen some absolutely amazing and out-of-this-world weddings all done in the comfort of someone's backyard. For Stephanie and Julio, their boho Long Island wedding day was held at the Swan Lake Golf Club. While it's not the grand ballroom that some of you envision for your wedding day, it was so much better. Surrounded by their close family and friends, underneath a wooden arch, these two lovebirds committed themselves to each other for life and it was a beautiful thing to witness.

Boho Long Island Wedding at the Swan Lake Golf Club

For Stephanie and Julio, their wedding day was all about spending it with friends and family celebrating their love. Throughout the day there were a lot of tears (happy ones of course) and emotions were running high, but what can you expect? You're getting freakin' married!! We started off the day with Stephanie and her bridesmaids getting their hair & makeup done, and relishing in the fact that Stephanie is going to be walking down the aisle in just a few hours! While they were getting ready, I took some photos of the details Stephanie set aside for me, and OMG, I was (and still am) obsessed. Stephanie and her mom also shared a very intimate moment between the two of them as Stephanie slipped on her wedding dress. Typically, these are the moments that make even me teary-eyed (and I've seen A LOT of weddings) so I always make sure to bring along some tissues just in case for moments like these. While Stephanie and her gal pals were finishing up their final wedding look, Julio and his groomsmen were ready and waiting for the beautiful bride to make her way for the first look.

First Look & Vows

A first look is a perfect opportunity for you and your partner to have some alone time before the ceremony. You get to see your partner for the first time and to be honest, this can be incredibly emotional as well. Moral of the story: weddings = emotional moments. So always wear waterproof mascara and pack tissues. Stephanie and Julio met up for their first look where they exchanged vows and had a beautiful moment between just the two of them. It's definitely a moment that will stick with them for the rest of their lives and is such a special moment to document.

Ceremony & Reception

Stephanie and Julio's ceremony was breathtaking as they said their vows underneath their wooden floral arch. The rustles in the wind and the glances from family and friends as they watched their loved ones make their lifelong commitment to one another. THESE are the moments I live for and why I do what I do.

After the ceremony, there was a brief cocktail hour as the sun began setting. I used this as my opportunity to sneak off Julio and Stephanie for some portraits as the sun began setting. They had their adorable pup join us for a few as we stole the last bit of light we could before heading inside for the reception. Inside the reception space carried their beautiful bohemian decor all done by Stephanie herself! We love a DIY queen! The florals and bouquets were done by Creations de Belle and paired beautifully with all of the decor and it was pure magic. A beautiful night filled with break dancing on the dance floor, a photo booth in front of a floral wall (shoutout FleureverNY), and even a sneaky little outfit change for Stephanie into a fun and flirty short dress. If you're looking for that beautiful boho wedding inspiration, then this is it!

Congratulations to Stephanie and Julio and I'm wishing you both nothing but happiness in your future!
